Accounting Course Overview
Leaving Certificate Accounting is a practical senior-cycle subject focused on the financial information used by individuals, businesses and organisations. Curriculum Online explains that the current syllabus is assessed at Higher and Ordinary Level and remains in place for examinations to June 2028, with a new specification not due to take effect before September 2027 for fifth-year students. Students build knowledge of accounting and financial management while developing organisation, logical thinking, planning, problem-solving and numeracy in a business context. Zr Academy uses that official structure to build accuracy in layouts, workings and interpretation, then turns practice into exam-ready routines. Lessons cover final accounts, cash flow, club and company accounts, ratios, budgeting, costing and management accounting, with regular review of timing, presentation and common marking points.
