Physics
Physics Course Overview
Leaving Certificate Physics develops students' interest in the physical world and the principles behind technology, measurement and natural phenomena. Curriculum Online notes that a new Physics specification is being introduced for fifth-year students from September 2025, while the current syllabus remains the examination route to June 2026. The subject builds knowledge of core concepts, problem-solving skills, inquiry habits, practical competence and awareness of how science and society interact. Zr Academy lessons connect theory to calculation and experiment. Students study mechanics, heat, waves, electricity, magnetism, modern physics, light and required practical work. We focus on units, formula selection, graph work, definitions, diagrams and data interpretation, then practise exam questions so students can explain ideas clearly and calculate accurately under pressure.
