History

Introduction

Leaving Certificate History is about investigating the human past through evidence, interpretation and argument. Students learn how historians ask questions, evaluate sources, compare viewpoints and build reasoned explanations.

It is a subject for students who want to think critically and write clearly. Alongside topic knowledge, students develop research skills, judgement and the ability to support conclusions with relevant historical evidence.
