Science
Science Course Overview
Junior Cycle Science develops students' understanding of the natural world and how scientific evidence is gathered, tested and communicated. Curriculum Online describes the specification as a three-year course of at least 200 hours, organised around the unifying strand Nature of science and four contextual strands: Physical world, Chemical world, Biological world, and Earth and space. The course places strong emphasis on inquiry, investigations, communication, scientific literacy and the role of science in society. Zr Academy lessons help students connect classroom ideas to practical tasks and assessment. We build confidence with core facts, experiments, graphs, calculations, keywords and explanations, while encouraging students to justify answers using evidence. The course supports Junior Cycle preparation and creates a stronger foundation for senior-cycle sciences.
